WebFocus Developers needed in Metro-Detroit

Are you an experienced WebFocus Developer that is looking for a new opportunity and challenge? MODIS has a long-term contract opportunity available in Southfield, MI for a WebFocus Business Intelligence Developer at one of our client locations in the Metro-Detroit area. You will be responsible for working on a global application where you will actively contribute in a cross-talented team comprised of analysts and developers to convert Business Object reports and Universes to WebFOCUS to support and drive forward the Business Intelligence (BI) reporting area for a global Fortune 500 corporation. Responsibilities include analyzing specifications and Business Objects Reports and Universe to develop and test reports utilizing WebFOCUS and Teradata or Oracle databases. You will provide support of existing WebFOCUS reporting applications including participation in off shift duty analyst pager rotation. Interface and communicate with business customers and team leads for scope, estimates, requirements and project deliverables. Interface with the various information technology groups, as needed, for source-to-target mappings and reporting interfaces. Work with Data Analysts and Database Administrators, as needed, to manage changes. Create and maintain production support documentation. Use project management and systems development life cycle methodologies.

Required skills include over 5 years of professional IT experience with at least 3 years in WebFOCUS development including Metadata, Reports and Dashboards. Programming experience using languages such as C/C++, FOCUS, Java, COBOL, etc. Database skills include RDBMS such as Teradata and Oracle.

Preferred skills include any experience with JavaScript, HTML, WebFOCUS InfoAssist or comparable skill set including Power Painter, Graph Assistant, and Report Assistant). Knowledge of Business Objects.

Additional skills include strong communication, both oral and written and with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. Strong drive for results and ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. Proven innovation skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing. Experience in obtaining and understanding business requirements. Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities. Working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Required education includes a Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
